Striking and versatile new CX-5

The new Mazda CX-5

The latest version of Mazda’s mid-size crossover SUV brings more features, technology and a cleverer cabin architecture to the South African market.

Mazda’s pioneering Kodo design proves that versatile cars can have presence and look timeless. In the highly competitive mid-size crossover SUV market, the CX-5’s unique design language has differentiated it.

Striking design is accentuated by bold colours. And the new Mazda CX-5 debuts an all-new colour option for the range: Navy Blue Mica. In bright sunlight, it brings crisp blue highlights to the CX-5’s sculpted surfaces, while in softer or shadowed conditions it retains a deep, unmistakably navy character.

With the introduction of Mazda’s latest version of the CX-5, its design presence has been enhanced. It also adds a raft of improved safety and driver assistance features.

Safe and spacious

That sense of confidence begins with safety. The all-new CX-5 has earned a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating under Euro NCAP’s 2025 testing protocol, achieving scores of 90% for Adult Occupant protection, 89% for Child Occupant protection, 93% for Vulnerable Road User protection and 83% for Safety Assist.

Inside the cabin, Mazda’s latest Human Machine Interface technology creates a seamless connection between driver, smartphone and vehicle. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, Driver Personalisation and a Full Digital LCD Instrument Cluster form part of the CX-5’s driver-centric technology offering, ensuring key information is accessible, intuitive and easy to use.

Mazda’s CX-5 Homura is the pinnacle of the range and debuts a new level of infotainment experience for the CX-5. The Homura trim level introduces a striking 15.5-inch centre display screen and electrostatic steering controls, elevating the cabin with a refined blend of digital functionality and craftsmanship.

Mazda CX-5 interior and cargo space

Powering the new CX-5 is a 2.5-litre petrol engine that delivers 132kW of power at 6,000rpm and 240Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Without turbochargers, this naturally aspirated Mazda engine is engineered for performance, durability and longevity.

The luggage compartment has been expanded, with cargo capacity increasing to 964 litres with the rear seats folded, offering greater flexibility for work, family, sport and adventure. A 40:20:40 split-folding rear seat adds further flexibility, letting you carry longer items while still seating two rear passengers.

The all-new Mazda CX-5 is backed by MazdaCare, including a five-year, unlimited-kilometre service plan, a five-year, unlimited-kilometre factory warranty and five years of roadside assistance.

For eligible CX-5 owners with an active five-year service plan and warranty, Mazda’s Courtesy Service Programme also provides same-day access to a courtesy Mazda vehicle when booking a service, subject to dealer availability and applicable terms and conditions.
